Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the jet's front window, per an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet landed in accordance with established safety measures and all passengers, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative stated in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to Brussels at the time.
This incident isn't the first occasion that a American defense plane transporting a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to head back to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical problem.
